This is a really cute homemade baby shower invitation for a girl that I just designed. It is super easy, but super cute! And, you could actually use it for a boy as well if you change the pink writing to blue! So versatile….
If you need an idea for an invitation that takes no time at all, then this is the one!
Start by creating a text layout. You can use either a printshop program or a word processing program. I find it easier to use a printshop program because it’s really easy to move and change the size of your text box. Select a vertical page layout. Create a text box on the top of the page. Write you text using a fun font. I used a font called Jenna Sue that I found on a free font website. Keep a left alignment. I wanted a cute saying to go with this invitation so I used this…
“Love, joy and wonderful dreams, all the sweet things a new baby brings…
Please join us for a baby shower honoring
Breanna Davis“
Then finish off the text with the remaining party information. Be sure to leave a larger margin on the left side of the text for the other paper strip. Once you think your layout will work, copy and paste it to the bottom of the page. Use trial and error printing on inexpensive printer paper until you know the placement will be exactly right. Once it’s correct, print it on the white cardstock.
Now, cut the cardstock in half to a size of 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″. You will get two text pages per one sheet of paper. I like to cut all the paper first before I start assembly.
Cut a 5-1/2″x 2″ strip of the fun print paper for each invitation. Attach it to the left side of the white cardstock using scrapbook mounting squares.
Cut a length of ribbon about 14″ long. Wrap it around the invitation on the seam of the two papers and attach it on the back using tape or mounting squares.
You’re done! I just love how quick this invitation is to make! You should definitely try this one for your next baby shower!
Let me know what you think!
