I love leaving my kids little Valentine’s notes on that special day and I wanted to find a clever way give them to them without just placing them on the table.
I came across this super cute, super inexpensive way to give them their Valentines. I found the original idea over at Anderson Family Crew and tweaked her idea a bit…
I just love it and so do my kids! They love receiving mail, so I’m sure these babies will be out long after the decor of cupid’s day is down!
Here is the super simple way to make them yourself!
{Oh, and did I mention how cheap they are??? All four of these only cost me a whopin’ $9.00!! Mailboxes and stickers from Target’s dollar section and candlesticks from Goodwill and Dollar Tree!}
DIY Valentine Mailboxes…
1) Purchase the mini tin mailboxes at Target in the dollar section or anywhere else you can find them. I found these candlesticks at the Dollar Tree.
2) Prime and paint the candlesticks using black spray paint.
3) Have your kids decorate their mailboxes to make them unique and their own…. they LOVE doing this!!
4) Attach the black candlesticks to the mailboxes using E6000 glue.
5) Proudly display your kids works of art! (and get ready to fill them with cute Valentine’s) :)
My daughter also wanted to decorate one for her teacher to display on her desk! Such a fun idea!
Believe me, your kids will love this project and you’ll love how cheap and easy it is!! Let me know how your’s turn out! :)

Awe! Those are really cute and very creative by putting them on the candlesticks. I have been looking for those candlesticks at my local dollar store and no luck!
Aw, darn! Try looking at your local thrift store or Goodwill…I’ve found lots of candlesticks and fluted glasses that work too! And they only cost about 25 cents!!
