Handmade Bridal Shower Invitation…Modern Chic

Supply List…

I’ve wanted to make a handmade bridal shower invitation with some soft feathery yarn for a long time now, so the yesterday I sat down and got to work.

I’m really please with the way it turned out and even happier with how easy it was to make!

I just love the way the crisp white contrasts with a bold black and trendy chic turquoise!

If you love this invitation as much as I do, then follow the tutorial below to make it yourself, or contact me for a custom order customized for you!  I love doing custom orders, so be sure to contact me!  I can even change the color to fit your wedding theme!

To make this invitation yourself, begin by cutting the white cardstock to a size of 6-1/4″x 6-1/4″.  I love using my X-acto Paper Trimmer!  It works great and cuts my time in half!

Next, in your Word program or any printshop program, design a text layout.  Also, insert a circle into your text.  I used a pretty thick circle edge because I wanted it bold.  The circle size should be roughly 4″ in diameter when finished.

After you have a text layout and circle, print on the white cardstock.  Using a circle template or free-hand if your brave, cut out around the black circle leaving 1/8″ white edge.

Next, using two lengths of the yarn, attach it to the white cardstock.

Next, cut a strip of the turquoise paper to a size of 6-1/4″ x 2-3/4″.  Attach it to the white cardstock on top of the yarn.

Finally, attach the text circle to the turquoise strip in the center of the invitation.

You’re done!  Isn’t that easy!  I just love it!

Be sure to try this invitation for your next bridal shower!  It would also work great for a trendy baby shower!

Hello Donielle, I’m so glad you like this invitation! The fonts I used were “Opera” for the main name and “Ithuriel Demo” for the rest of the text. If you don’t have either of those on your computer, you can download them free from any free downloading font site. Just google “free font download for Opera” and it will take you to a site that offers it. Just click download and go through the process of downloading each font….
