{Handmade Invitation} Valentine’s Party

Supply List…

Now that Christmas is over, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!  Time to start planning those fun Valentine’s parties!

The first thing on your list of party to-do’s should be the invitation.  The invitation I’m featuring today is perfect for any Valentine party, whether it’s a fun bash or a romantic get-together!

To make this invitation yourself, just follow the tutorial below or make it even easier and contact me for a custom order!  I’ll create this invitation or any on my site custom tailored to your needs.  Just place the order with your information, wait 1-2 weeks, and they will arrive on your doorstep, complete with matching envelopes!  Be sure to contact me today to get ahead of the Valentine’s Day rush!

If you’d like to make this yourself, begin by cutting the black cardstock in half to a size of 5-1/2″x 8-1/2″.  Be sure to use a very good paper trimmer.  It will cut your time in half!  I love using my X-acto Paper Trimmer…it works perfect and has for years!

Next, using either a Word program or printshop program, create a text layout.  Be sure to include all the info for your party.  Rotate a “LOVE” text box and place on the left side of the text.  Be sure to leave a margin for the ribbon to pass through.

I also created a thin black border line about 1/8″ in from the edge around the text.  This may take some trial and error to get the border in the exact position needed for your invitation.

Print out the text on the fuchsia cardstock and cut it to a size of 5-1/4″x 8-1/4″.

{ place ribbon }

Place the ribbon, cris-crossing, on the front of the invitation.

{ Attach the ribbon on the back }

Carefully flip the invitation over and attach the ribbon on the backside using tape.

Next, place some mounting squares on the backside of the fuchsia cardstock and attach it to the black cardstock.

That’s it!  So simple and beautiful!

Be sure to try this invite for your Valentine’s party!  And, if you do, I’d love for you to leave me a comment letting me know how your’s turned out!  I love comments!!  :)

    Great job, Lindsay. The satin ribbon against the cardstock looks beautiful and very clever to flip the position of the word Love. You make it look so easy!
