I just love Christmas…everything about it! The family, the friends, the togetherness, the children’s Mass to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the exchanging of wonderful gifts, the delicious food…everything!
And, when I think of Christmas, I think of Home for the Holidays because I think that is where everyone should celebrate Christmas! (if possible) :)
This homemade Christmas invitation fits that theme perfectly and is labeled that! It has a very elegant design and simple, sleek style and would fit the theme of anyone’s elegant Christmas dinner party!
You can follow the tutorial below to create your own, or make it even easier and contact me for custom invitations! I will create them for you! Everything is completely customizable including wording, font and colors! Be sure to contact me for pricing and delivery time!
If you’d like to create this invitation at home, begin by cutting the damask print paper to a size of 5-1/2″x 8-1/2″. I love using my X-acto Paper Trimmer for this! It works so good and has for years!!
To create the “ribbon” strip behind the text sheet, cut the green cardstock in a strip 2-3/4″x8-1/2″. Cut the red cardstock to a size of 2-1/4″x 8-1/2″.
The next step is to create a text layout for your wording. I like to use my Word program or any printshop program. I like to use two different kinds of fonts to add interest and elegance. I also highlighted some of the words in red to add extra pizzazz! Once you have a text layout, create a thin box around it 3-1/2″x 5-1/4″.
Next, print out your text on the white cardstock. Cut that down to a size of 3-3/4″x 5-1/2″.
Now, using the mounting squares, attach the red strip to the green and then those to the black/white paper. Finally attach the white cardstock to the other layers.
That’s it! So easy, so elegant!! Love it!!
