Homemade Baby Shower Invitations-Girl

Supply List…

Looking for a cute, classic look for the invitations for your baby shower?  These super cute, super easy homemade invitations are perfect!

This baby shower invitation took me no time at all and they turned out so cute!

I loved the look of this light pink and white floral print paper so I had to have it!  I found this pink cardstock that is a shade darker than the pink in the print and it looked perfect!

I knew I wanted a ribbon to wrap down the seam of the two papers so I tried a few different ones that I thought might work.  I tried a white ribbon, but it just didn’t do much for the invitation.  I thought I needed a punch of color so I tried a black ribbon, but that was too harsh and bold.  So, I tried this chocolate brown and loved it!  It went great with the pink, and these colors are so trendy right now!

Since I would be printing my text on my base layer (pink cardstock), I needed to figure out a layout for that first.  It was pretty obvious that this baby shower invitation was for a girl, given the colors, but I thought it would be cute to write a simple “think pink!” at the top.  Then I wrote the rest of my text in a pretty cursive font but kept the names in the same simple font that I used at the top so they would stand out a little more.  I also printed the text in a chocolate brown ink so it would blend with the ribbon.  I made sure to keep the text to the right side of the layout since I would be placing the strip of floral print paper on the left side.

To make the invitation, I took my 8-1/2″x 11″ pink cardstock and cut it in half to a size of 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″.  This gave me enough paper for 2 invites per sheet of paper.  Next, I cut a strip of 2″x 8-1/2″ of the pink and white floral paper.  I attached that to the left side pink cardstock using scrapbook mounting squares.

Next I cut a length of ribbon that would wrap all the way around the invitation and meet in the middle on the back.  I placed it over the seam on the front and attached it to the back using the mounting squares.

That’s it!!  So easy, so cute, so beautiful!!
