I just love the beauty and elegance that goes into making a great homemade bridal shower invitation! I think this one is full of those details!
I love the deep colors of the moss green and chocolate accented by the crisp white base sheet! It really gives a sophisticated feel to this invitation.
It’s also a really easy invitation to make!
To begin, cut all the white cardstock in half to a size of 8-1/2″x 5-1/2″. This will give you two invitations per one sheet of paper.
Next, cut the chocolate cardstock to a size of 4-1/2″x 8-1/2″. This will leave a 1/2″ reveal of white on each side.
Now you will need to create a text layout for the invitation. I like to use my printshop program, but you can use whatever you feel comfortable with! Using a horizontal page layout, create a text box on the left side of the page. Begin to write your text. I used a very elegant cursive font that I downloaded from a free font website. I love all the great fonts you can find on them!! I also created a circle near the top and put the letter “H” in it for the couple’s new last name. I wanted a cute saying with the invitation, so I used this…
“Let’s wrap up our best wishes
ans shower the couple with love!
Please join us for a bridal shower in honor of
Jenni Nelson & Oliver Hayes“
I also changed the font color to a chocolate brown to help blend with the rest of the invitation.
Once you have a good layout, copy and paste it to the right side of the page. I like to use trial and error printing until I know that the layouts will work good. Be sure to use an inexpensive printer paper while testing!
After you know the layout is correct, print it on the moss green cardstock. Next, cut each text sheet to a size of 4″x 8-1/2″. This will allow for a 1/4″ reveal of chocolate on either side of the green.
Finally, using scrapbook mounting squares, attach all the layers together, making sure to keep them all centered!
What a beautiful invitation that is so simple to make! You should definitely try this one for your next bridal shower!
Let me know what you think!
