I just love a cute and sweet homemade baby shower invitation, don’t you?? I think this one that I’ve designed fits perfectly into that category!
Light pink and white paired with a couple jeweled florettes…love it!
The best part is, it’s super simple to make!!
To begin, you need to determine a text layout. This is the first step because the base sheet (white cardstock) is also the text sheet. To make a text layout, I like to use my printshop program. It’s really easy to navigate, has lots of great fonts and works great for me! Choose a horizontal page layout. Create a text box to the left side of the page. In the text box, begin typing the information for your party.
For this invitation I thought a cute little saying would fit perfectly, so I came up with this…
“Cute as a button, sweet as a rose,
Ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes…
Join us for a baby shower in honor of
and her new baby girl,
Then I continued on with the rest of the information. I also used a small printed font for the main body, but highlighted the names by using an elegant cursive font. I also changed the font color to a pink that would match the accenting cardstock. Be sure to leave enough room at the top for the flowers and enough room at the bottom for the accent papers.
Copy and paste the text box to the right side of the page. This will give you two invitations per one sheet of paper. To determine if this layout will work, I usually use a trial and error printing. I make sure I first print on inexpensive printer paper so I don’t waste my good cardstock! Once you know your layout will work, print it out on the cardstock.
Cut each piece of white cardstock in half to a size of 5-1/2″x 8-1/2″. This is the overall size of the invitation.
Next, cut a piece of the pink cardstock to a size of 1-7/8″ x 5-1/2″. Using scrapbook mounting squares, attach the pink cardstock to the bottom of the white cardstock.
Now cut a piece of the pink and white floral print to a size of 1-5/8″x 5-1/2″. Again, using mounting squares, attach it to the bottom of the pink cardstock for a layered look.
The final touch is adding the jeweled florettes. Attach them to the top in any arrangement that you like. A small cluster of three usually looks great!
And that’s all! See how easy!!
