Make Baby Shower Invitations

Supply List:

When making baby shower invitations, remember they are supposed to be sweet and precious, just like the baby they’re for.  This homemade baby shower invitation could also be for a boy if you change the colors to blues and greens, or if you need neutral, change the colors to yellows, creams and greens.

It is very easy to make this invitation!  Once all the papers were cut, it only took maybe a minute to assemble each one.  And, since there’s only 3 layers of paper and a little bit of ribbon, the materials don’t cost much!

I decided to make this invitation a size of 6″x6″ because I like the square look better than an elongated look in this case.

Once the polka-dot sheet was cut to 6″x6″, I wanted a 1″ reveal all the way around, so I cut the cream layer to 5″x5″.  To leave a 1/4″ reveal around the pink text sheet, I needed to cut the text sheet to a size of 4-1/2″x 4-1/2″.

Since it is a square, it makes it a little trickier to get all the text to fit on the text sheet, but using a smaller, tighter font and smaller spacing, it worked out great!

Since this invitation is sweet and very girly, I wanted a cute saying for the text.  This is what the invitation says…

Soft as a whisper, so precious and sweet

tiny perfection from her head to her feet…

Addison Rose Smith

will soon be here!

Let’s shower her parents,

Steve & Meagan

with lots of baby gear!

Everyone loves a cute saying to go along with a cute invitation!

Adding the ribbon is really easy too.  Just wrap a length around the sides and connect in the front middle where the other layers will cover it and tape it down.  Do the same from the top to bottom and connect in the middle.

Once the ribbon is done, just adhere the rest of the layers and you’re finished!

      Hi Kim!
I’m so glad you like this invite! I actually got this paper from Hobby Lobby, but I’m sure it’s also available at Michael’s or Joann Fabrics too. I’m pretty sure it’s probably also available at hobbylobby.com…
      Hope that helps!

We Love to Hear From You
