Making Party Invitations {Pool Party}

Supply List…

Need to make a fun and easy homemade pool party invitation?  This is definitely the one for you!  This really took me no time at all!

And, it looks so cute!  I just love the fun circle print paper, and paired together with this cute summer yellow cardstock, it fits the theme of a pool party perfectly!

Like I said, this invitation is so easy… to start, cut the circle print paper (or any fun paper) to a size of 6-1/4″x 6-1/4″.  I always use my Xacto paper trimmer because it gives me a great cut every time and it’s fast!

So you know, this invitation requires the larger 6-1/2″x 6-1/2″ envelope which I’ve provided a link to above.

Next, decide on a text layout.  I always use my printshop program, but any word program will work.  You can use either a horizontal or vertical page layout since this is a square invitation.  Create a text block on one side of the page.

This invitation is for a pool party, so I simply stated,

“Join us for some summer-time fun!

The Grayson’s Summer Pool Party

…sweet and simple, and it gets the point across.  Then I added the remainder of the party information.  Next, copy and paste the text block to the other side of the page.  If you’re lucky, you may even be able to fit four text blocks per page so you can save a lot of money on paper!  I always use a trial and error printing until I get it correct, which usually takes 2 or 3 times.  I just use a cheap printer paper and keep putting it back in the printer a different way before I print it so I don’t waste that paper either!

Once you have the layout correct, print it out on the yellow cardstock.  Next, cut that to a size of 4-3/4″x 4-3/4″.

To add a fun touch, I used some metal brads in the corners of the yellow cardstock.  I pressed them through only the yellow cardstock.

The last step is to attach the cardstock to the circle print paper.  I like to use scrapbook mounting squares because they are easy to use and hold great.

That’s it!  So easy and so cute!!  You definitely should try this homemade invitation if you need something fun but easy!

I’d love to hear some of your ideas for great summer invitations!
