Like you, I love making invitations, but when you make invitations, you also need supplies and materials. I have supplies and materials that I am very commited to and use all the time. I’d like to share those with you incase you’re looking for some great supplies to use!

The one thing that you obviously can’t make an invitation without is paper. I love to use printed scrapbook paper and cardstock. Even if I don’t have a printed paper or I’m just not sure a pattern that I want to use, then I can always design an invitation using just cardstock. Use different colors and different layers to create a great invitation!

One of the supplies that I just can’t live without is my X-ACTO 12 inch Paper Trimmer. I use it every time I make an invitation. I have had this one for probably 6 or 7 years and it is still going strong! I have never had to sharpen the blades and it still cuts the paper like it’s brand new. Trimming paper for an invitation is a necessity, so in my opinion, this paper trimmer is a necessity too!

If I’m making an invitation, then I’m definitely using my computer PrintShop program. I do all of my text layouts in this program and it is loaded with different fonts to really make the text on my invitations stand out!

Another tool I like to use and always have on my desk is my Fiskars Scissors. They work great when I need to make a perfect cut through some ribbon or for anything else I need to cut.
#5
The only adhesives I ever use while making my invitations are these 3L/HELMAR 1/2″x1/4″ Permanent Mounting Squares. They work great and are even repositionable for a couple minutes after you apply them. They even come in clear color so they work great with translucent vellum.

This X-ACTO No-Roll Rubber Barrel Knife is a great tool to have when you are freehand cutting. It makes great precision sharp cuts and rarely does the blade dull.
#7
I sometimes like to use markers and freehand print on my invitations and when I do, I like to use these Sharpie Fine Point Markers. They write great and have the perfect fine point tip and they last forever!
#8
Ribbon is one of those things that I just have to have around when I’m making invitations! I’ve always got a large stash of extra ribbon to use. This Grosgrain Ribbon Group has lots of great shades that will work with any invitation I need to make.
#9
Another little embellishment that I like to use on some of my invitations is metal brads. They add texture and dimension to an otherwise boring invitation. They also add the perfect finishing touch! I like to use them on house-warming invitations, anniversary invitations and even on ‘Welcome Home’ soldier invitations.

And last, but not least…envelopes. They are an essential supply in my invitation making. I love using these Columbian Greeting Card Envelopes in White. They are the perfect final touch to any invitation.

And, something I’d love to have, but haven’t made the purchase…
A Cricut Create Machine! I would love to have one of these machines and I’m saving my pennies for it. It would work great for anyone that makes invitations, cards or does scrapbooking! Your creativity and imagination can go wild when you use the Cricut, and have the cartridges that go along with it!
Let me know what supplies or materials that you like to use or can’t live without!
