Summer parties happen just about every weekend it seems, so for your next summer party why not make a great invitation to go along with a great party?!  Whether it’s a picnic, family reunion or just a good ‘ol B-B-Q,  this homemade invitation idea will surely work great.

This homemade invitation was designed specifically for a summer BBQ, but change up the colors and patterns and it will work great for any party.

Oh, and this is one of the easiest invitations I’ve ever made!  I was done in no time flat and even had extra time left to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine!

First, I started with a pretty popular and recognizable pattern…a checkered tablecloth print.  I then matched that up with a red cardstock for the base sheet and a white textured cardstock for the text sheet.

I wanted the theme of the party to stand out on the invitation so I printed the words, “Snyder’s Annual Summer B-B-Q” in a matching red ink.  I printed the rest of the text in black.

Once I had the text layout figured out, I printed it out and cut out all of the papers before I started to assemble them.

After I had the papers cut, I also used a piece of red and white grosgrain ribbon to tie the white and checkered print together.  Finally, I attached it all to the red base sheet.

My husband thought it needed something else and suggested that I draw on some marching ants across the checkered print.  I thought it was a cute idea, so using a very black pen I freehanded some ants.  They turned out cute and it really fits the theme!

Again, super easy!!  Another easy made invitation by Lindsay…

I’d love to see some of your ideas for summer party invitations!  Post them in my comments so everyone can see how talented you are!
