For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved design. That love has taken me from art to interior design and most recently to invitation design. I’ve started this blog to help inspire others to love the creativity and design that goes into making invitations as much as I do! Doesn’t everyone love receiving a great looking invitation to a party or event they know will be fun?! A lot of gratitude comes with creating an invitation that is really appreciated by the recipient.
Not only are the invitations I create personal and unique for each event, but I also create them in a budget-friendly way. Like everyone else nowadays, I’m on a tight budget. I like to design invitations that do not break the bank.
I’ve done a wide range of invitation design, from the obvious: birthdays, bridal showers and baby showers, but also the more personal: first communion, baptism and beach parties.
I’m a simplist…I rarely use much more than paper, scissors, a paper cutter, sticky dots, a pretty ribbon and my computer for the type-print. And, if I wanted to be even more simplistic, I’d do some calligraphy instead of the computer…that’d be a great invitation!
I’m big on using things that I already have and only purchasing what I really need, like different papers. Specialty stamps, Cricut machines and things like that are fabulous tools as well, but may be quite an investment, and a good one!
Throughout this new adventure of blogging, I’ll share some of the best ways to create simple, handmade invitations in a budget-friendly way. I’ll share insight of what products and resources I think work great or that you may not want to purchase. I’ll also share with you valuable tips and tricks for creating the perfect invitation. And, of course I’ll share photos of the invitations I’ve created to help inspire you to create your own!
I’m looking forward to this new adventure and hope to gain lots of friendships and new ideas along the way. Post comments and give critiques so I can constantly improve on what I like to do and so everyone can see what you’re up to too! Come back often and see what’s new to help get your creative juices flowing!
